The story behind the app

”As a kid, English didn’t come easily to me.“

They tried to teach me letters, rules and fine points before I even felt I understood simple words or could say them out loud.

Today I know that what kids need first is confidence.

That’s why I built an app that starts with sound, picture and play — and gradually leads to speaking.

Most kids aren’t afraid of English — they just haven’t been given the confidence to speak it yet.

  • Many kids are pushed into letters and writing far too early

  • Before reading, a child needs to grasp sound and meaning

  • A second language needs repetition, confidence and a positive experience

  • Mistakes should feel like part of the game, never like failure

The heart of the app

Confidence to speak English isn’t born from worksheets — it’s built through play

  • Understanding first, speaking next

The child hears and recognizes the word again and again, until it feels like their own. Only then are they invited to say it out loud.

  • The microphone is a toy, not a test

Say a word — the bear celebrates. Didn’t land this time? Try again or skip. No score, no failure, no embarrassment.

  • Small wins that add up

Every speaking attempt earns warm encouragement and stars. A child who feels successful asks to play more.

This approach also helps older kids who haven’t yet found the confidence to speak English — they start from the basics and move at their own pace.

How does the child learn in the app?

  1. Listen

Hear the English word — sounds and meaning before letters

  2. Recognize

Recognize it through a picture and a game

  3. Say it

Say it out loud and get warm encouragement

  4. Progress

Move on to phrases, instructions and sentences

A learning journey built step after step

The journey is designed so the child isn’t thrown straight into complex English. It starts with a single word, gathers small wins, and only once confidence is built does it move on to phrases and sentences.

  2. Speaking a single word
  3. Word phrases
  4. Saying a phrase out loud
  5. Number + color + object — out loud
  6. Understanding English instructions
  7. Whole sentences — out loud

🧭 This is how the journey really works in the app: 167 levels across six worlds, and in 47 of them the child speaks English out loud.

A look at the journey

Six worlds, one journey

Each world has its own character, and they build on one another — every world adds a new layer of confidence on top of the last, at the child’s pace.

Step 1 of 6

The Starting World

First words

The journey begins gently: the child meets single English words through pictures, sounds and play — a warm, joyful introduction, with no pressure and no letters.

🚀 And this is only the beginning — the journey keeps growing, with new games and worlds joining all the time.

👂 The app’s ear

Confidence first, accuracy next

The path to speaking English starts with confidence — so the app listens to the child differently at every stage, and grows right alongside them.

A smiling clay child holding a microphone Early in the journey

Listening with a kind ear

The app accepts imperfect pronunciation, gives extra chances and celebrates every try — so the child learns that speaking is fun, with no fear of mistakes.

Sharpening pronunciation

The app’s ear grows more precise: it expects clearer pronunciation and helps the child refine the words — step by step, at their own pace.

Forgiving doesn’t mean giving in: even in the early levels, a wrong word is never accepted — we encourage, but we never cheat.

New · the main game of the journey

Goooal! Kick the right word into the net

Hear an English word — and roll the right ball into the net. A high-energy movement game that connects the body to the language: the child moves, bursts with excitement, and picks up English without even noticing they’re learning.

  • Hear an English word or phrase — “red apple”, “black cat”
  • Roll the ball to the right item and score a goal
  • The golden ball returns throughout the journey — with a level ladder that grows with the child

New · the peak of the journey

The Magic Telescope: look — and say a whole sentence

The top of the speaking ladder: the child looks through the magic telescope, discovers what’s hidden in the scene — and says a whole English sentence out loud. All the confidence built along the journey, from a single word to here, comes together in one big moment.

  • Discover a scene through the lens — a farm, a meadow, a market or a street
  • Say a whole sentence out loud — “There are two green frogs”
  • Stuck on a word? Tap its glass dot and hear it again

    Count & Find

Why now?

  • Because speaking confidence is built one small step, then another small step.
  • Because a child who feels successful wants to keep learning.
  • Because English doesn’t have to start with fear, letters and rules.
  • Because sometimes all a child needs is to listen, understand, try — and be encouraged.
  • Because when learning feels like play, the child comes back to it willingly.
  • Because the goal isn’t just to know words — it’s to dare to say them out loud.
  • Because a good start in English can change a child’s whole relationship with the language.

Parents’ questions

Does the child need to be able to read English?

No. The app starts with sound, pictures and speaking.

Is it right for kids who don’t know any English at all?

Yes. The journey starts with very basic words.

Is it good for older kids too?

Absolutely. The recommended age is 4–10, but older kids who feel unsure about speaking English connect with it too — the app starts from the basics, progresses gradually, and never feels babyish.

Does the child have to speak into the microphone?

Not in every game. There are listening, choosing, memory, drag and speaking games. Speaking is introduced gradually.

What does the parent see?

A parent area with progress and tips for building speaking confidence — available in 10 languages, so you can support your child in your own language.

What about the child’s privacy?

The app itself doesn’t record or store audio, and the microphone is active only during speaking activities. Speech recognition is handled by the operating system’s recognition service (Apple/Google) — like the system’s own dictation, the audio may be processed on Apple/Google servers for recognition only, and the result is used just for that moment of play. You can read all about it in the privacy policy.

Are there ads or in-game purchases?

No. The app is a safe space for kids — no ads, no sales pitches and no extra payment requests inside the game. The subscription unlocks everything.

How much does it cost?

There’s an annual plan and a monthly plan. The annual plan is a limited-time launch offer — about 50% off compared with paying monthly. Apple and Google localize the price for your country, so the exact amount is shown in your local App Store.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. There’s free access to some of the worlds and games.

Accessibility

Accessibility statement

At Say it! we care deeply about providing an equal experience to everyone who visits, and we work to make this site accessible and available to people with disabilities too. We believe everyone deserves to browse the web with dignity, independence and ease.

Level of accessibility and standard

This site is built to follow the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at conformance level AA. We aim to meet this level and work on an ongoing basis to maintain and improve the site’s accessibility.

What has been made accessible

  • A dedicated accessibility menu (the ♿ button in the corner of the screen): increase and decrease text size, high contrast, grayscale, link highlighting, motion pause and a readable font. Your preferences are saved on the device.
  • Full keyboard navigation — you can reach every link, button and field using the Tab key, and there is a “skip to main content” link at the top of the page.
  • A sound semantic structure — headings, landmarks and labels — suited to screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA.
  • Alternative text (alt) for meaningful images, so a screen reader can describe them; decorative images are hidden from reading.
  • Proper color contrast between text and background, in line with the standard’s requirements.
  • Full support for right-to-left (RTL) and left-to-right languages, and adaptation to a range of screen sizes.
  • Respect for the system preference to reduce motion (prefers-reduced-motion) to minimize animations.

Known limitations

We put ongoing effort into keeping the site accessible, but some parts may not yet be fully accessible, or you may find elements that need improvement. If you come across something that isn’t accessible, we’d be glad if you let us know, and we’ll work to fix it as soon as possible.
